Devious Journal Entry

I posted some photos from the Outbreed Fashion show yesterday, and should be submitting a few of the better 'studio style' ones soon.

So many photos to edit and sort and send and blah blah blah. Another Photo shoot in a week.... busy, busy...

And people, please.... although comments are appreciated, I DO have a boyfriend, and it's not very nice to say that you hate him/wish he was dead/want me, ect. Let's play nice here, ok?

Yesterday I had a photoshoot on the beach with Jane Hakanson ([link]), which went rather well. I finaly got the sea weed and sand out of my hair, so I can't complain.
We did a digital photography set, then Janey took a few b&w shots with a camera that I can't even hold properly, let alone work.
After I had come to the conclusion that I had been battered about on the rocks enough for one day, I took out my camera and shot the 'Little Janey and the Sea' set, which I submitted last night. It seems to have gained quite a nice response, so I'm assuming that my skill as a photographer could be improving. I hope so, because I'm taking test shots for some one next Monday afternoon.
I have a few more typical, cliche beach photos to submit later on; sea weed and shells on the sand. I know every one is sick of them, but I really liked the colours.
Perhaps that's what I'm all about with photographs; the colours. Even if I don't particulary fancy the subject matter, or if the pic is a bit blurry, as long as the colours speak to me, it's all good.

I just submitted a LOT of pictures over the last few days, which I will be using in my portfolio. Looking back, I really like the 'princess' ones that I did, although at the time I hated them.
The pics were taken 48hrs after I underwent some surgery, so I look quite faint and pale. People commented that my eyes look disturbing; it's because of the pain.
I absolutely hated the way I looked in them for weeks after, but now I really like them.

I have quite a few pics on my camera which I have not yet loaded onto the computer, so I will have to do that next time I have access to my usb cable. I took a lot of self portraits, which look ok on the camera, but I may change my mind after they are in front of me at full size.

Next time I have access to a scanner I will also be submitting some of the better work from my art folio.

Now onto a less than plesant subject... 'how to piss Ophelia off':

- No one understands the anguish I feel when people do not read the deviation description when I submit a piece. When it clearly states "photography by- some one other than me", don't ask me how I got the angle, or tell me the lighting is wrong! If I diddn't take the photo, I can't respond to those statements.

- Alternatively, when I take a photo, (generally a self portrait), why do people always refer to the photographer as bieng some one else? Read the description, people!

- DO NOT ASK ME FOR NAKED PICTURES. That pisses me off the most. Really, It makes me rampant with rage. I do not post my work here to gain compliments on my physical apperance... I do not post to please those who are too cheap to buy a subscription to a pay site. Grrrrr! And if you keep asking/commenting, I WILL name you.

Now that I have come off as a self absorbed bitch, I'll step down and go back to what I was doing.

I was going to start this entry by complaining about how I get more comments on my boobies than my 'real' art work. But then I realised that boobies are quite possibly the finest aspect of art... and we shall leave it at that.

We have all known it for years now... sex sells.
